Dr. Rainer Boeger M.D. is Professor and Head of Clinical Pharmacology department at the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf. He has published over 200 articles in medical journals and professional magazines and is recognised as the leading researcher of L-arginine in Germany and worldwide.
Dr Boeger has dedicated 21 years of academic research and clinical studies related to L-arginine. His major contribution is the discovery that ADMA (asymmetric dimethylarginine) is a risk marker of vascular disease. He has documented his knowledge in 130 publications on the role of ADMA and L-arginine in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Dr Boeger was a co-organizer of the 5th NO International Conference, Bregenz, which focused on biology, chemistry and therapeutic applications of Nitric Oxide (NO).
